New Balance Release 21/22 Roma Third Shirt

New Balance have finally dropped AS Roma’s third jersey for 21/22 season, and whilst the timing of the release is somewhat unconventional, the design shares all the typical characteristics of the Italian side’s recent drops: imaginative, adventurous and nothing short of irresistible.
New Balance’s strategy with launching this season’s kits for the Giallorossi has been questionable to say the least, exemplified by the decision to release the the fourth kit before the third, but all the logistics aside, the shirt is here and it’s a stunner.
Away from the Stadio Olimpico, Mourinho’s men will don a slick traditional gold shirt, featuring a smooth navy and red sash. The jersey also sees a return of the Lupetto, the distinguishable Wolf of AS Roma, situated on the sash to the left of the chest. The navy shoulders are accompanied by a red accent on the sleeves top the shirt off.

England starlet Tammy Abraham exhibited the shirt on Roma’s official Twitter page, where they described the shirt as ”a fresh twist to an iconic emblem”. There’s no doubt that Tammy will want to replicate the form of former Roma legends that have worn the Lupetto on their chest, with the new release and the former Chelsea striker sharing a plethora of characteristics, from the free-spirited nature to the unorthodox swagger of both the jersey and the former Chelsea striker.
Despite New Balance’s ‘alternative’ method of releasing AS Roma’s kits this season, the intentions with kit design are still pure. General Manager of New Balance Football, Kenny McCallum, has stated on a number of occasions that NB recognise the tradition of Roma, reinforced through this season’s complete collection of innovative and traditional designs.
Regardless of almost a third of the games having already been played in Serie A this season, there’s still opportunity for crowds across the globe to see the suave jersey on the European and Domestic Cup stage.
For sure, a potential cult classic and another reminder that, off the field, AS Roma simply can’t miss.
