After the release of their first two kit designs to cement the status of the newfound partnership, New Balance have dropped an AS Roma-edition 997H trainer, with the traditional colours of the Italian club acting as the colourway for the sneaker.
Constructed from suede and mesh, and adorned with the club’s traditional red and yellow palette, the sneaker features the Giallorossi’s club crest on the tongue of the shoe, as well the La Lupa wolf featuring on the inner sole.
This marks a continuation of New Balance producing sneakers for their affiliated teams, having seen Liverpool and Celtic possess their own respective sneakers, as well as Porto receiving a special edition 997H as well.
Featuring as part of the American brand’s ‘Only Roma’ campaign for the 21/22 season, this release acts as an embodiment of the transcendency involved with the club and its culture, recognising it as a lifestyle as opposed to bounded by field lines or a stadium.
And with this drop, we are left wondering what else New Balance has in store for the upcoming season.
