Louis Vuitton release the Equipe LV Polo with Football Influence

Louis Vuitton have taken another step into the world of football and the culture surrounding it, with the launching of the Equipe LV Polo. The obvious football jersey influence acts as another implication of the Italian brand’s future aspirations regarding their entrance into the football market, and this latest play will no doubt fuel the constant noise about when the first major entrance will occur.

The piece in question is a slim-fitted Polo, adorned with a knitted polo collar and further embellished with a combination of printed and 3D graphics. The fabric construction features cotton on the inside of the Equipe LV, and technical fibre on the outside. This is complimented by metallic buttons.

The traditional crest, sponsor and brand – in addition to a name and number on the rear of the Polo – no doubt resembles the template of a football jersey familiar to most football fans. An unfamiliarity, perhaps, is the price tag of £590 of the jersey.

Speculation arose last year, regarding the Luxury Brand’s potential acquisition of footballing powerhouse AC Milan, which inevitably sparked a plethora of concept designs across social media, imagining how an AC Milan x LV collaboration could potentially look.
